Arthur Franklin Burkett, Sr.

Arthur Franklin Burkett, Sr., age 83 of Clever (formerly of Nixa,) died July 25, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 7, 1941 in Nellyville, Missouri, the son of Amos Franklin and Allie Carlene (Sanders) Burkett.

On April 29, 1963, Arthur was united in marriage to JoAnn (Sparks), who preceded Arthur in death on August 12, 2014. Arthur greatly enjoyed genealogy and his work. He was a Jack of All Trades. Arthur enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Arthur Franklin Burkett Jr., and wife Melissa of Clever; four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and his brother-in-law. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann (Sparks) Burkett; his mother and father, his brother, and a son, Brett Burkett. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from noon until 1:45 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with a short prayer service at 1:45 p.m. officiated by Richard Lee.

A private burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Maple Park Cemetery, Springfield.
