Anthony Burks

March 19, 1963 — August 25, 2021

Anthony “Tony” Dion Burks passed away on Wednesday August 25th 2021. He was born March 19, 1963 in Caldwell Idaho. Tony grew up and remained in the Southwest Missouri area, notably in Ash Grove, Marshfield, and Republic. In his younger years Tony served his country as a member of the United States Army. To know Tony was to love him. He was so very kind and tender hearted. He would undoubtedly give you the shirt off of his back or his literal last dollar. He would do these things without hesitation and it was never up for debate, even if the favor could never be returned he kept taking care of the people he loved without expectation…this was simply who he was as a person. Most people would describe Tony as a big teddy bear, although he had a gruff outer appearance he would always be waiting with open arms for a friendly, tight, warm, comforting embrace. Tony didn’t have many material or worldly possessions to give at any one given time, but he had something much greater…he had a kind, loving, caring, and giving spirit. Tony was preceded in death by his stepmother Nancy Burks. He is survived by his father, Bob Burks; his siblings, Brian Burks, Reba Minor, Jeff Burks, and Mike Burks; his children Elayna Burks, Ashley Woodruff, Brandon Burks and his wife Sarah, Brett Burks and his wife Mariah; his grandchildren Jacob Stevens, Noah and Leah Woodruff, Sykora Burks and William Dill, Averi, Bennett, and Millie Burks; and a plethora of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony will be missed and is greatly loved. May Tony’s spirit live on through his loved ones and his friends. Rest in Heaven. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Friday, September 10, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 PM.
