Anna Maria Newsom

Anna Marie Newsom (neé Dobles) was born February 2, 1968 to Guillermo and Lydia (neé Carrillo) Dobles in Fresno, California. She is the youngest child of her siblings, Joe, Sandra, Anna, Roy, Ricky, Rita and John. At the age of 20 years old, Anna Dobles dedicated her life to the Lord. In January of 1987, Anna gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Jessica Anne. After a near fatal car accident in 1990 Anna met John Newsom and his son, Kyle. With the blessing of their pastor and families, they joined in marriage on November 1, 1990. Anna gave birth to a baby boy, John Newsom (John John) in December of 1999. Together, the Newsom’s raised their family to love God, serve their church and enjoyed family time. With a passion for children, Anna pursued a career in Child development and received her associates degree in 1999 and begin working with Headstart of San Diego where she was employed over fifteen years. Working with children was not just a career but it was a passion of her heart,she also worked with children through various aspects at new life Center church for many years including Sunday school and children’s evangelism for four years and then at a branch work that she and her husband served as Pastor for seven years in La mesa California. She was known for her love of hosting family gatherings and serving her local church. Sister Newsom had an incredible gift of knowing what a child was feeling and was dedicated to making sure every child felt loved and cared for. In the summer of 2017 Anna Newsom and her family moved to Springfield Missouri and Anna begin working with the Headstart program and soon became the center director for the Headstart of Springfield Missouri. In 2018 John and Anna Newsom began pastoring Grace Apostolic Church of Nixa Missouri where Anna dedicated all of her time to the work of the church and especially to the Sunday school department and working with the children. Anna was a lover of life, lover of God and lover of family. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Duran and Judah Fitch & Everly and Camerie Newsom. On May 4, 2021, Anna Newsom was carried from earthly glory to celestial into His loving arms where she joins her brother, Ricky Dobles, nephew, Eric Dobles and her Bishop Berl Stevenson. Anna was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Dobles; and a nephew, Eric. She is survived by her husband, John Newsom and their children, Kyle, Jessica and John along with spouses and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Battlefield Apostolic Church, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Marc Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Battlefield Apostolic Church prior to the funeral.
