Anitra C. "Sis" Mills

Anitra C. Mills, affectionally called Sis, passed away on February 19, 2022, at Castlewood Assisted Living in Nixa, Missouri.

Anitra was born on May 7, 1949, in Reeds Spring, Missouri to Jim and Mary (Hedrick) Mills. Sis was kind and caring. The love she had for her family will never be forgotten. Her family was most important to her and the care and compassion she had will be missed by all who loved her.

Anitra graduated from Reeds Spring High School in 1967. She then attended the Missouri State University school of business. She took a job with Rock Lane Lodge in Branson, starting as a librarian and working her way through the company to eventually become manager. Once the Lodge sold, she continued to work in the hotel and hospitality industry, taking a managerial role with Notch Estates in Branson West. In 1999, Sis joined the family business and began working for Mills Construction.

Anitra was preceded by her parents, infant sister, Denna Delora Mills, and one sister-in-law, Marcia Mills. She is survived by five brothers, Jim Mills and wife Betty, Tim Mills, Murl Mills and wife Sharon, Densil Mills and wife Lori, and Kevin Mills and wife Kimberly, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends, Trudy Manning and Susan Cutsforth.

In leiu of flowers, the family as asked that you make a memorial contribution to a charity of the donors chosing in honor of Anitra. 

A graveside will be held in Anitra’s honor 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Yocum Pond Cemetery in Reeds Spring, Missouri.

Cremation rites are entrusted to Adams Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
