Alma Arveda Palmer

Alma Arveda (Parsons) Palmer, age 99 of Nixa, passed away on October 31, 2023. She was born February 5, 1924 in Nixa, Missouri, the daughter of Hubert and Anna Marie (Morris) Parsons. She was united in marriage to Roscoe Palmer on August 12, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Alma was a homemaker, raising five daughters. She drove a school bus for Nixa in the 70's and also worked for Allied Bus Barn. She loved to bowl and enjoyed quilting, cross stitch and jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include: Her five daughters, Saundra Looney of Nixa, Sheryl Lathem and husband Doug of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Cindy Cornog of Ozark, Rose Marie Fredrick and husband Don of Kissimmee, Florida, and Melody Stout and husband Ron of West Plains; 13 grandchildren, Robin, Scott, Allen, Lori, Marty, Erin, Dale, Jeff, Christy, Caren, Michelle, LeAnn, and Emily; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; a niece Patty Hawk; a cousin David Fielder; a brother-in-law, Phillip Palmer and wife Norma; a sister-in-law Norma Palmer; many extended family members and friends.

A graveside funeral will be 2:30 PM Friday, November 3, in Payne Cemetery, Nixa. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Friday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
