Ward Glenn Day, a longtime resident of Ozark, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, in Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare, Crane. He was born September 7, 1928, in Christian County, the son of Johnny and Alma (Patterson) Day. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and on September 1, 1950, he and Virginia Jones were united in marriage. She preceded him in death in 2007. His parents and a son, Dale Glenn Day, also preceded him in death. Ward worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic before retirement. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing and hunting, traveling, and antique farm equipment. Survivors include: A brother Clifford Day and wife Lois, Ozark; five children and their spouses, Roland and Maxine Day, Winter Haven, Florida, Verl and Cindy Day, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jan and Jack Weathermon, Crane, Glenda and Roger Allen, Marionville, and Renee and Roger Evans, Willard; nine grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; several step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his canine companion, "Dog"�. Visitation will be from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, September 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A graveside service and military honors will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in Payne Cemetery, Nixa, with Pastor Leslie Day officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer"�s Association.
