Pat Duncan

Pat Duncan, age 77, of Nixa passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 after a valiant battle with kidney disease. He was born November 12, 1943 in Council Grove, KS to Ralph and Inez (Still) Duncan. He grew up in Council Grove and graduated from Council Grove High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Emporia Teachers College, Now Emporia State University. Pat was united in marriage to Ann Roberts November 28, 1975. Pat worked for Sinclair Oil Company as a sales representative. He bought a few gas stations in eastern Kansas that eventually became Duncan Oil Company. He ran the gas stations and oil company from 1967 to 1977. Pat sold his business and moved to Cape fair where he opened Kensey Prop and Marine in a small building. He became the largest Champion boat dealer salesman in the world. Pat was the national sales manager for Champion Boat Company and numerous other marine companies. He was the top Mercury salesman for five consecutive years. Pat was an avid fisherman and fished in tournaments and fished professionally for 20 years. He enjoyed taking his sons quail and pheasant hunting. When Pat retired he and Ann bought a home in Mesa, AZ and spent the winters there for 16 years. He played golf in Mesa and became an avid golfer. He was very personable and sold boats while playing golf. Pat was an enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs and a Royals fan. Pat gave his children a wonderful and active childhood with many great memories. Pat is survived by his wife, Ann, of 45 years, sons Ralph Duncan, his wife Denise of Marshfield, and Rob Duncan, his wife Teressa of Republic; a daughter Lori Munhollon, her husband Barney of Cape Fair; brother-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey Roberts; grandchildren Nicole Spalding, husband Jeff, Patrick Duncan, Dr. Lauren Schuessler, husband Dr. Brad Schuessler, Kaeli Duncan, Jonas Crump, wife Kayley, Weston Duncan and Landon Munhollon; and four great-grandchildren. Pat is preceded in death by his parents. A private graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to your local high school fishing clubs. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
